By simply scanning a barcode on the Discovery, shoppers can view any information on any product in any area of the shop from price checking, displaying lists of ingredients or in-depth product related information.

In barcode based loyalty programs shoppers can read their bonus level in real time. Special applications enables the retailer to present personalized offers starting a "one-to-one" relation with its loyal customer.

'Thin client'
With the Discovery Scantech created a Thin Client product which can be easily configured, programmed and maintained from a remote location or at the retailer's server. It is possible to operate 32 Discoveries on one location operating hardwired or wireless.
